Northern Industry Skills Assessors came about through an identified need for assessing skills, helping with the implementation of industry competancies into the workplace, and helping industry achieve their goals through accurate management of assessment and training.

Meet Our Team

Blythe Warland

Blythe started his career as a Refrigeration/Air Conditioning Apprentice in Katherine, NT 1980.  After completing his apprenticeship Blythe worked in the industry up until 1998, when he completed his Batchelor of Teaching and commenced lecturing at the Northern Territory University in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning area.  During this time Blythe was promoted to Associate Dean of the Faculty of Utilities and Construction, holding this position for 3 years.  He is also a member of numerous Industry Training Advisory Boards, both locally and nationally.

Blythe has also coordinated/lectured in the Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment and most recently, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Throughout Blythe's career he has gained an extensive understanding of National Industry Training Packages and the Australian Qualifications Training Framework.

Kathy Robertson

Kathy has been working in the Vocational Education and Training sector for the past 14 years.  Kathy commenced with 8 years experience in project work and management with the Industry Training Advisory Board/Training Advisory Councils.  She was Executive Director of the Electrotechnology & Utilities Industry Training Advisory Board.

Following this, Kathy worked at Training Solutions where she managed the Administration as well as training and assessment of Business Administration, Information Technology and Retail.  Kathy was promoted to Manager of Training Solutions.

Since 2003, Kathy has worked in a number of areas ranging from managing administration with the Faculty of Technology, Coordination and Training of Retail at Charles Darwin University and most recently managing the Electrotechnology Industries own Group Training Organisation, Electro Group Apprentices in the Northern Territory.

Kathy and Blythe have developed a passion for assisting industry in determining their needs through skills analysis, assessments and training.
